Benefits of gyms with a steam room
Ever felt the adrenaline rush of leaving a hot steam room? It's an incredible feeling—that's why you'll find me in them often! Steam rooms have become a popular amenity at gyms, and their health benefits are immense. Here's why:
Improve your cardiovascular health. In an enclosed room with hot steam, you'll increase bloodflow throughout your body. This should help reduce inflammation, and stimulate the release of nitric oxide: the perfect way to lower blood pressure and relax your blood cells.
Improve the health of your skin by opening up pores. As you breathe in hot air and begin to sweat, expect toxins and impurities to release.
Relaxation and stress relief: after a tough workout, hot temps can reduce tension in your muscles. Heat and humidity can also release endorphins, improving your mood and reducing stress.
What gym chains have a steam room?
Boutique and luxury gym brands like Equinox and Lifetime are at the premium end fitness offerings, and do usually have a steam room (along with other aqua amenities like saunas and pools).
Mid-range priced options like 24 Hour Fitness, VASA, and California Family Fitness most likely have steam rooms too. You'll see the monthly costs around $30 and up, and with that price comes bigger facilities, and much more room for activity! Again, saunas and pools usually come along for the ride too).
When you get to the smaller, franchise-based gyms (often found at strip malls), they likely don't have the space for a steam room (these are locations like Anytime Fitness and Crunch). Usually their amazingly affordable monthly membership costs of $10 to $20 don't cover
Finally, class-based (HIIT) brands like Orange Theory, F45 and Barry's don't have steam rooms. Their focus is on group and individual functional training and workouts—not amenities like steam, sauna and pool.

Well, why don't they have it?
Many different reasons. One large one: cost. Steam rooms need to be maintained and managed which ads to overall cost of running the gym. Adding this amazing benefit would drive up monthly membership cost, and chains that charge $10 to $30 montthly usually have other types of (smaller, less expensive) amenities instead.
Workout and class-based (HIIT) chains such as Orange Theory, F45 and Barry's usually don't include saunas as part of their offering
