While comprehensive, Cal Fit doesn't offer everything—none of their clubs have:
But—to be clear—we're nitpicking a bit, since it's rare to find (at least the last two bullet points). Cal Fit is a very well rounded gym chain that those in California should be lucky to have.

Amazing amenity set that ensures fun and fitness for the whole family. Seriously: they have an activity for everybody in your squad.
A plethora of swimming and wet options. You've got your pick of lap pools, kiddie pools, splash pads, saunas and steam rooms.

Pickleball! It's just around 70 gyms across the nation that offer up the popular, growing sport. Cal Fit has 5 of these courts.
While California Family Fitness checks off nearly all the boxes for most folks, there are still a few things we'd like to see.
They had a larger club network, with gyms spread out throughout California.
Their prices were more competitive aka lower! Look, we understand that the amount of amenities and services they offer are head and shoulders above other gym chains—but nothing wrong with wanting to save a few bucks, right?
Olympic lifting platforms were available at California Family Fitness. We don't see it listed at any of their gym web pages, but we do see it in some of their photos.
The "old" California Family Fitness gym chain merged with In-Shape, so we'll have to update pricing for this new super-mega gym. More to come!

December 2023 Update: In-Shape Fitness and California Family Fitness are merging into a single company, with official details January 2024. We'll update our review on this new, California-mega-gym-chain then.
