This is the ultimate guide to YouFit Gyms. All of our expertise is summarized on this page—giving you everything you need to know about the gym chain.
YouFit gyms offer extremely affordable memberships balanced with a fair amount of standard amenities. You won't get mid-or-high end amenities, but you'll enjoy the great pricing and good value. Here's what to expect:
All the standard gym equipment and offerings are there, too:
YouFit Health Clubs, commonly known as YouFit Gyms, was founded in 2008. The gym chain was established in St. Petersburg, Florida, USA.
The exact opening hours for each location is different, but the most common we've seen:
The total amount of locations we're tracking from this fitness chain.
Room for activities! Average square footage of their gyms.
How much you can expect to pay for the entry-level membership every month
We love the affordable pricing structures—we've seen as low as $10 a month (charged as $5 biweekly) in some areas. Their gyms are a bit no-frills, but are clear to the point as places to get a workout in.
One of the gym chains leading the pickleball charge! You'll be able to find courts across the country, but it's quite rare to see them at gyms. YouFit has you covered (23 of 64 locations) with the popular sport.
Olympic lifting at 54 of their locations, 84% of total. Functional training turf is at 59 clubs, 92% of total. These are two popular amenities that we see younger members are asking for more often.
The crazy good $9.99 a month basic membership. Kudos as well for the ultra-clear pricing options—on the first page—of the YouFit website.
While YouFit checks off nearly all the boxes for most folks, there are still a few things we'd like to see. We wish they would fix a few things.
No hot tub, no steam room, no pools. Ouch! Aqua amenities aren't a focus for YouFit, and it's hard to compete with other gym chains that offer up water-fun-functions.
We wish more of their locations had a basketball hoop. In the areas that YouFit has clubs, many other gym chains don't have a court for members to play on.
We'd like to see more photos of individual locations on their website. You can't get a good idea of the layout, equipment, or even parking.
YouFit gyms—under new management—have underwent some positive changes to improve the member experience. We like how they also streamlined the monthly cost, breaking it into three easy tiers. In our analysis, we looked at 5 different clubs from YouFit, going from Phoenix all the way to Rhode Island. Here's what you can expect:
Annual fee is $49 for all locations we checked. Didn't see that fee fluctuate at these locations:
One key thing to know about YouFit: many (if not all) locations charge their fees "biweekly" aka twice a month. That may be great to lineup with your paychecks, but that means in a calendar year you'll get billed 26 times, vs 12 with most other gym chains.
Yes the bi-weekly cost will look cheaper, but two extra bill cycles really mean a $4.99 biweekly = $10.83 monthly (we listed it as $9.98/monthly to better compare with other chains on our site). Small difference, but it's important to know.
We all have different bodies, different goals and different fitness journeys. Some gyms may fit a person better than others. So who would enjoy this gym most?
Free weights, strength machines and cardio equipment.
Nothing like the hot heat to warm muscles up.
An extra early or real late workout—your choice.
Stretch, sleds, bodyweight or box jumps. The turf area is the place to be.
Relieve pain post workout or soothe sore muscles.
Gym Pricing Tiers Explained
There are 3-4 main pricing tiers that nearly all gyms across the country fall into. Generally, higher prices = more amenities and services.
$10 - $25 /month — Value
$15 - $30 /month — High Value Low Price
$25 - $65 Monthly — Mid-Tier
$65 and up — Boutique/Specialty/Luxury
"Is this gym worth it?"
Use our guides to help inform and educate what a gym can offer your fitness lifestyle. Only you can truly decide if a gym is worth it!
YouFit Gyms are fun, upbeat and straightforward—looking to stay ahead of the times with popular offerings such as pickleball. Other amenities they pride themselves on include performance turf, group fitness classes and Olympic lifting platforms.
Alone, these this set of services put them ahead of many other value-focused chains such as Anytime Fitness and Planet Fitness. All gym chains we feature of course have the basic collection of cardio and strength equipment too.
If you're looking for something different, say—pool, sauna, steam or basketball—you'll need to look elsewhere. We did say they were straightforward, right?
And it's exactly those 3 amenities that will determine if YouFit is worth it, to you. Outside the lack of aqua amenities, if you're a fan of the ever popular pickleball, then YouFit should be at the top of your list. Their 23 locations with the sport count for about a third of gyms with pickleball—in the nation! That might be their current claim-to-fame, but we believe they still offer a great, basic, entry-level option to their members.
Price-wise they're doing great with the $9.98 Basic to kick it off, with $23.99 Premium and $36.99 Premium+ options. The higher price points bring you pickleball, unlimited guest privileges and small group training. Don't forget about their bi-weekly billing process. That, too, could make this gym worth it.
