UFC Gyms are a bit of an outlier—in the greatest and best way possible. Combining combat/team elements with traditional gym amenities, you get a very competitive package. Here's what you can expect to see from the hybrid:
Members also get access to standard gym offerings like:
While we don't have exact stats on this (yet), expect several (or many) of UFC gyms to feature mats, heavy bags, boxing and Octagon areas.
UFC Gym was founded in 2009 and is headquartered in Santa Ana, California, USA. The gym chain's current CEO is Adam Sedlack.
While the exact times will differ for every location, the most common opening hours we've seen from UFC are:
The total amount of locations we're tracking from this fitness chain.
Room for activities! Average square footage of their gyms.
How much you can expect to pay for the entry-level membership every month
We love the close relationship between combat sports, training techniques, coaches and traditional gym equipment/services. Yes, this unique gym chain blends all of the above in an impactful all-in-one brand.
The whole concept of a hybrid gym chain, offering up the more traditional weights/cardio options, as well as blending kickboxing, MMA and combat activities.
Sizeable clubs, an average of about 38,000 square feet. Many locations with mats and Octagons are also welcome additions.
We're impressed with the addition of saunas to their locations—30 total in fact. Makes sense as a great warm-up or post-workout amenity.
UFC Gym already offers an impressive mix of services and amenities. Still, we can name a few things we'd like to see from them.
There were more clarity on the different gym levels that are offered. Locations include UFC Fit, UFC Class and UFC Gym.
Pools (just 6) and hot tubs (just 5) got more love at UFC gyms. Adding these aqua recovery amenities would really challenge huge gym chains.
They provided more photos for each location on their website. Seriously: we want to see the weights, mats, cardio and Octagon areas.
UFC Gyms are more expensive than other mid-tier offerings, but not out of range for many.
All plans come with standard strength and cardio access, along with free attendance to UFC Pay-Per-View Fight parties—which itself can be a huge draw if you're a true fan who watches the matches. It almost becomes a no-brainer to "get a free membership" if you pay to watch their PPV events (which have climbed to $79.99).
We all have different bodies, different goals and different fitness journeys. Some gyms may fit a person better than others. So who would enjoy this gym most?
Free weights, strength machines and cardio equipment.
Nothing like the hot heat to warm muscles up.
An extra early or real late workout—your choice.
Stretch, sleds, bodyweight or box jumps. The turf area is the place to be.
Relieve pain post workout or soothe sore muscles.

"Is this gym worth it?"
Use our guides to help inform and educate what a gym can offer your fitness lifestyle. Only you can truly decide if a gym is worth it!
UFC Gym combines elements of fitness together that just make sense. For those who are interested and practice combat sports like kickboxing, mma, boxing and more—UFC Gyms are excellent communities to do that.
Naturally, those same people may want a traditional workout option full of weights, strength building equipment, and even cardio, basketball and saunas.
Having these two similar—but different—worlds together in a single location must be heavenly for their members. Now that we think about it, this was probably one of the founding thoughts and themes that helped bring this gym chain to life. And it's working, judging by the popularity and growth of both UFC and their gyms.
With monthly membership dues hovering around $59 to $129, it is indeed a step up from fast-gyms at $9.99/month, or mid-tier around $39.99. But—is it worth it? For these folks it will be:
Picking UFC over, lets say a LA Fitness or Esporta, is a yes to the above, and (generally) no to pools, basketball, saunas, steam room, massage and tanning.
There are some light caveats though. For UFC's 71 locations, they've added 6 locations with pools, 5 with childcare, 3 with basketball. So, ultimately you can still get your combat-needs plus big-box gym amenities, you'll need to look at each individual UFC gym in your area to make a final choice. Scroll to the bottom of the page to see them all.
All-in-all, we love the flexibility that UFC offers—and we're 100% sure that thousands of others out there feel the same way. This is an excellent option for total health and wellness, which makes UFC absolutely worth it!
