Does Esporta Fitness have pickleball?
Let me guess: your newfound addiction of pickleball has you wanting to play every day and every night. You're not alone—pickleball is one of the most popular sports right now, an absolutely fun and addictive game for folks of all ages.
Here at gymscompared.com, players are always asking us if a certain gym has a court. And it does make complete sense. Wouldn't it be great if your pickleball matches were at the same location as your daily workout?
Yes, more and more gyms across the country are starting to add pickleball as an amenity—and you're in luck, we've got the full list.
Ok. So what about Esporta Fitness?
Sorry. You'll need to find another place to play. Not one gym from Esporta has pickleball. This is actually pretty surprising to us: Esporta is a feature and amenity rich chain. Read on for our take.
Why doesn't Esporta have pickleball?
Here are our best thoughts to why (not):
- No space. We categorize Esporta Fitness Clubs as medium sized—estimating 20,000 to 40,000 square feet. But, that isn't quite large enough to support pickleball.
- Pickleball doesn't fit their amenity offerings. The large majority of space at their gyms are cardio machines, then some weighted machines, and finally lighter free weights.
- Pickleball doesn't fit their pricing structure. Including a large court for this sport would be a costly undertaking—driving monthly membership prices up. And that certainly doesn't fit the value-focused fitness chain.
Will Esporta have pickleball in the future?
LA Fitness is actually at the top of our list of gyms that have an insane amount of amenities. Why are we talking about LA Fitness? Well—they're the parent company of ESporta, and the amenity sets are nearly matching. Yes, both gym chains pack their clubs with all the goodies, so here's why we think adding pickleball could work.
- A good portion of Esporta Gyms locations offer basketball—meaning there is already a space that could be converted into pickleball. This is not a guarantee though: sometimes basketball areas are only half-courts—not quite big enough. Also their basketball areas may be much busier or in high demand. All we're saying is that there is potential for pickleball to be played here.
- ESporta is also an amenity rich gym chain. They have full size gyms where many feature pools, saunas, towel service and more. We wouldn't be surprised if Pickleball were to be added at a couple locations in the future.
- LA Fitness already offers and setup sports leagues for volleyball, basketball and racquetball. This would be an easy rebuild under the Esporta name. Pickleball enthusiasts would love some organization in playing competitively. LA Fitness' existing leagues already prove they can support it.
- The monthly membership cost supports more amenities. Unlike their cheaper competitors, the $40 monthly membership price allows the gym chain to support several gym benefits: pickleball for sure.
Wrapping it up
No pickleball at Esporta Fitness, sorry folks. But, with all the extreme similarities to parent company LA Fitness, we see path to adding pickleball.
