Can't wait to sweat it out? Like others, you've discovered the immense benefits of a sauna. You love the hot hot heat, and the way it draw toxins and impurities from your skin. We are on the same vibe my friend: that fresh out of the sauna' feeling is purely addictive!
Here at gymscompared.com, people are always asking us if a certain gym has a sauna. And we can clearly see why it makes sense: Folks are either warming up muscles before their workouts, or relaxing sore ones once their session is complete. Bottom line: the sauna is a key amenity to help achieve your fitness goals.
More and more gyms across the country have added a sauna (or two!) for their members—and we've done all the research for you.

Got it. So which gyms have a sauna?
As of March 2024, we count 142 total gyms at Esporta. A very good 84% of them have a sauna... A stunning 119 different gyms.
This ranks Esporta near the top of our rankings, where many gym chains 1) don't have a sauna at all or 2) others have fewer locations with this amenity.
You can find these 119 Esporta sauna gyms in and around Arizona, Illinois, Ohio, Tennessee and more—and if the sauna is at the top of your want list in these areas, Esporta is an excellent (amenities rich) option.

What to wear in the sauna at Esporta Fitness?
We're haven't seen a specific dress code for using the sauna at Esporta Fitness. But, here are some general guidelines we've seen:
- Expect to sweat—so dress accordingly. Yep, the heat will turn up your internal temps and sweat will soon follow. Make sure you're wearing clothes that wick and/or absorb your sweat easily.
- Make sure you're comfortable: most folks we've seen in the sauna are wearing the same athletic sportswear they use on the gym floor. Shorts, leggings, t-shirts and such.
- There are of course several recommended items to not wear: such as jeans, coats and heavy clothing.
How hot is the sauna at Esporta Fitness?
We're not quite sure on the exact temperature at this gym chain but we're looking into it. Do know that there will be variances between each location as well.
In our experience though:
- Most traditional saunas we've seen have their temperatures set between 150 and 175 degrees F.
- Infrared saunas usually aren't quite as hot, and hover around 120 and 140 degrees F.

Are there separate saunas for men and women?
Sorry, we don't know that yet. Check back here or join our mailing list for our latest updates.
What kind of sauna does Esporta have?
Esporta gyms have the "traditional" sauna (vs "infrared). While there are other types, these are by far the most popular at all of the national, large gym chains we cover. The difference between the two? Primarily how they distribute heat.
- Traditional saunas use heated stones and water to heat the surrounding air—creating an atmosphere that is both hot and humid.
- Infrared saunas are "light" aka UV based, and give direct warmth to heat the body—similar to the feeling when you step into the sun, but at a much higher temperature, of course.
Which is better? It's personal preference—but there's a reason the traditional is usually the standard.
Are the saunas free at Esporta Fitness?
Yep, sure is. Sauna is included in your monthly membership fee. This is a feature-rich gym chain, so access to sauna will most times include the pool, whirlpool spa (hot tub) and more.
If you're in a location that has several Esporta (and LA Fitness'!) nearby, you of course would be able to use their saunas as well!
Wrapping it up
So, Esporta definitely has saunas, and you're likely to find one nearby as they have over 119 across the country. Bonus points for being able to access LA Fitness clubs, and hopping into their hot hot heat saunas, too!
